Marina Beach
Marina Beach is a picnic spot and a family beach and not suitable for sunbathers. Yes, if you want to play beach ball or take a swim, you are welcome. Come evenings you can find virtually all kinds of entertainment with stalls selling southern delights. It is also an important venue for state functions. There are some beautiful and well laid out gardens near the beach.
You can also visit the samadhis or the memorials of former chief ministers Anna and MGR situated on the Marina beach. |

Marina Beach is the longest beach of India with golden sand and shimmering blue waters. It stretches up to 12 km on the eastern side of Chennai. Watch a fascinating sunset.
If you drive along the main beach road then you can see some of the important landmarks like University of Madras, Senate-House, Chepauk Palace and Presidency College.
